Two Year Higher Secondary Course in Arts Three Year Degree Course (General) in Arts Three Year Degree Course (Major) in Arts

Subjects Offered in the Higher Secondary Course:

(a) Compulsory Subjects: English M.I.L. - Assamese/Bodo/Alternative English (b) Elective Subjects Advanced Assamese Advanced Bodo Economics Education Logic and Philosophy History Political Science Sanskrit Arabic Mathematics Statistics

It is compulsory for a student to study minimum three subjects from the list given above. However, a student may offer one more subject from the above list as an additional elective subject.

As per subject combination rules, a student is allowed to select only one elective subject from the following:

Subjects offered in the Three Year Degree Course (General):

A student is required to study any two of the elective subjects from the given list. However, a student may take up vocational subject in lieu of any one of the elective subjects.

As per subject Combination rules, a student is allowed to select only one from the following elective subjects:

Advanced Assamese Advanced Bodo Sanskrit Arabic

Moreover, combination of Political Science and Mathematics is not allowed.

English Assamese Economics Education Political Science Philosophy Sanskrit Bodo

A student of the Major course is required to study one of the elective subjects from the list given below:

Vocational Course:

With a view to inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students the college has taken up steps for introduction of various vocational subjects. Functional English, a vocational subject has already been introduced under the UGC Scheme. A student of Three Year Degree Course (General) may take up this vocational subject in lieu of any conventional elective subject. The Department of Functional English provides excellent library and laboratory facilities for the students.

Career Oriented Programme:

(A) The college conducts the following UGC sponsored programmes at the Three Year Degree Level.

Creative Writing. Early Child Care and Education. Entrepreneurship in Small-scale Industries.

(B) The college also offers Computer Application as an elective subject in the Three Year Degree Course (Arts).

The college offers the following self-financing courses: PGDCA course under IDOL, G.U. Eligibility for admission: Graduated in any discipline. Session begins in Winter (Jan-Feb) and in Autumn (Sept-Oct) Certificate course in Computer Application (Six months) for H.S. students. Besides, the college conducts computer literacy programme with a view to providing the youth of the locality with the scope of learning basic computer application. The students of the college can join the course by paying nominal fees. Duration of the Course: Three months.

Remedial Coaching:

The college conducts UGC sponsored Remedial Coaching at the TDC level for the students of minority communities and closely monitors their progress.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Application for admission into the college should be made in the prescribed application form issued by the college office on payment of Rs. 40.00. Students are selected for admission into the college on the basis of their academic record. Candidates are required to produce original copies of the following documents at the time of admission. Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination. Age certificate. Character Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended. Caste Certificate, wherever necessary.

Attested copies of these documents must be submitted at the time of admission.

A student must attend at least 75% of the classes held in the college, failing which he/she may not be allowed to appear at the H.S. 1st Year Annual / H.S. Final / TDC Part – I / TDC Part – II / TDC Part – III Examination.

Attendance:

A student must attend at least 75% of the classes held in the college, failing which he/she may not be allowed to appear at the H.S. 1st Year Annual/H.S. Final/TDC Part –I/TDC Part-II/TDC Part-III Examination.

FEE STRUCTURE

College Fees for Admission:

A student is required to pay the following fees at the time of admission.

N.B.    (i) Students of Major Course shall be required to pay extra fees.
          (ii) Practical fees of Rs. 200/- to be paid where applicable.

Fees for Renewal:

The students of H.S. 2nd Year, TDC 2nd Year and TDC 3rd Year classes shall have to pay Renewal Fees on a date to be notified by the Principal of the college.
